Best Western Raphael Hotel Altona

We really liked this hotel. It's not far from downtown, but doesn't have a downtown price tag. Breakfast can be purchased separately. They have an arrangement with a parking garage where you can park your car, but it's quite expensive. We paid at a parking meter (with a credit card) to park in the street next to the hotel, for maybe 1/3 the cost.The furniture is a little dated, but very functional. It's not the Ritz, but it's just right for the price. We had a great view of the Tivoli Gardens amusement park from our window.

Close to the station. Clean good price and good service, all you need really.

Great , lovely, wonderful

I love the overhead flat shower head which falls a plenty of hot water like raining. There were many croissant/coffee stops close-by. Wifi speed is ok as long as no huge data transaction is involved.

This hotel was in a perfect location for us as we were in Hamburg for a gig and it was close to the venue and to the station. On arrival we were greeted and pleased to be upgraded. Our room was large and was on the front of the hotel and although the view was nothing special as it overlooked Altona Nord station, it was large, clean, well presented and there was no issue of outside noise Beds were comfortable and the shower and bathroom facilities were more than ample. If we had one small issue it would be that the room lighting was quite subdued and the room was not that bright. We went down for breakfast about 30 minutes before it was due to finish and although it wasn't included in our room rate we decided to pay and eat in the hotel as we were on a tight schedule and didn't want to spend time looking around the locale for something else. Although it was quite expensive at €12 per person there was a really good selection of fruits, pastries and an extensive continental selection and we were able to replenish as often as we wanted. If you were looking for a hotell to explore central Hamburg then this may be a bit far out but if you were visiting the Altona part of the city then I would certainly recommend this hotel
