The stay at this resort was in general great. "Everything works", almost. You have to accept that there can be situations where staff is not fully in-line with each other but no situation resulted in any bad experiences for us. Pool and beach are small. The beach is beautiful; note that the sunbeds at the beach do not get much sun (could also be a good thing). A very important note, though...the resort is expanding. Counting the new villas, they are almost doubling their capacity. Given the size of the resort itself, restaurants, pool, beach etc, a fully-booked expanded resort may become very crowded.
If you plan to move around Mahe or visit Praslin and/or La Digue, a car would be recommended unless you want to pay a couple hundred USD for a driver for the day. Mahe is a very small island so a car rental for more than one-two days may be unnecessary unless you plan to drive to dinners in e.g. Victoria. The hotel offered transport from the airport at Euro 63. This is extremely expensive and we found that we could organize transfer ourselves for about 500 rupees (amounts to about half of hotel quote). Note also that you may be able to strike deals with cab drivers but there is a chance that they will try to charge you more than your actual fare. Organize your transfers with concierge at the hotel (James "Bond" was our man during our stay; extremely helpful in every way). All in all, great stay, great place, but be sure to check how the resort expansion will affect your stay.
