Hotel Kapok - Forbidden City

Wifi koblet seg opp, men virket ikke. Ellers sentralt og fin plass :)

Var på lynvisit til Beijing 3 overnattninger. Koslig hotell veldig sentralt, med continual frokost, kan fint anbefales.

The room was large and very nice. The air condition worked fine. The room had WiFi and a fridge with cold water, sodas and beer. The hotel is less than a 5 min walk to the Forbidden City. The receptionist booked a tour for me to the Great Wall, and the guide picked me up at the hotel.

I booked the fashion room and it was very comfortable and clean. Water, beer and sodas in the room were included so that was a pleasant surprise I did not know when I booked. Black out curtains were also great for sleep. Room was on the 3rd floor right on the road frontage so it could be a bit noisy at times. Very close to Forbidden City but wish it was a little closer to the subway becuase the subway is really cheap (3 Yuan one way most places) and easy to use. It is a 15-ish min walk to the nearest station. The breakfast at the hotel is great and the front desk staff is also very nice and helpful and speak english. room was well stocked with free toiletries as well. This was a solo trip and I'm not a hostel person so this hotel was the perfect balance of price and comfort for me.

The hotel is amazing, the room huge. About the service, we hired a tour to the Great Wll which was great but the last day I asked if we could get a taxi at the door to go the the Airport Express metro station and they said they would call one for us. The taxi they called was a very rude man who first said he would charge us RMB49 to go to Donzhimen, when he arrived he said price would be RMB 60,- and while we were traveling to the metro station tried to convince us to take us to the airport for RMB 260,- We denied so instead of taking us to Dongzhimen Airport Express station E, he left us at the normal metro staion D and we had to walk for 800 meters to get to the correct entrance. The worst!
