Grand Hotel Salerno

Pros: Hotel is near the beach. Had free parking underneath the building. Room was big and very clean. Cons: pool, spa and gym were closed for renovations, as stated in page, but I believe the room was way overpriced just a basic room and zero amenities available.

I stayed in hotel for mum birthday party and was all perfect . The staff is kind and lovely rooms are clean , location is perfect . I love 💓 Grand Hotel Salerno !

Hotel was in a great location. Front desk people were not to helpful & had an attitude issue. Our air conditioner did not work good for four days & spoke with the front desk, but never resolved the issue. Room 169

It is perfect. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The restaurant staff were amazing especially Dennis. It was my second stay in this hotel and I will come back over and over again.

Due to the tile flooring throughout the building, it tended to be noisy.

This hotel is tired, the rooms look NOTHING like what you see on their website and the staff are disinterested to the point where its an inconvenience if you ask them a question. It is overpriced for the quality (or lack of). This was the most disappointing of all accommodation we stayed at in Italy. The only positive it the rooms were large so if you are sharing or travelling with kids there is plenty of space. We booked 3 rooms at the hotel. One was 'upgraded' on arrival but looked exaclty the same as the others. There are 2 bathrooms in the room - strange but again handy if sharing or with kids. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. It seems tour bus companies stay here and we timed our breakfast run with their breakfast times. It meant there was little seating for anyone else and the buffet struggled to keep up with supply. Location wise its a short managemable walk on a flat surface to the train station but a decent walk, albeit flat, into old town. The view was good. There is a small supermarket next to the hotel. We did not visit the pool facilities. There are no ironing facilities in this hotel. No irons. No ironing room. The only way you can iron an item of clothing is to book a laundry service for which you are charged (even if your dont need to wash your clothes!). I would not stay at this hotel again. Over priced, poor quality and dreadful service. Definitely not 4 star and dont let the pictures on their website fool you. Not all rooms look like that

Location, cost, service, breakfast was great, clean

Overall the stay was average, breakfast was good, rooms were clean, but its worn and outdated. My spouse and I kept saying we would have loved to see the hotel in its prime because it must have been beautiful.

The place is huge. The room was big. The room was clean. The bed was good. The shower is a good size, rather roomy for Europe, with average water pressure, but the temperature swung constantly from warm to cool every 10 seconds. The breakfast buffet was good too. They had a rather large assortment of items. The 3 worst issues of the stay was that we picked the place for its pool and gym. Guess what. Both of them were closed for renovations . This should have been made very clear in the post. The 3rd issue was that the internet was really poor. Basically impossible to stay connected for more than a few minutes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It is in a good location, about a 10 .minute walk from the train station, downtown area and ferry. There were a few restaurants and a night ckub down on the beach near the hotel. Overall a good clean place with a few issues that may not bother you.
