Hotel Alessandra

It was a good stay.

Stay away. I woke up the first night with bites all over my body; was hoping it was a mosquito. Second night I was sitting in the room reading and noticed bed bugs crawling up two of the walls (on the wall behind the headboard, and the wall near the armoire). Hotel staff didn't seem to care much. They offered for me to change rooms for the night but offered nothing in terms of helping me disinfect all of my belongings, etc. They just kept saying how in x amount of years they've never had an issue (doubtful) which didn't matter to me because the room I was in was infested. Had to spend the next morning at the laundromat cleaning and drying everything I own. They wouldn't let me use the laundry in the hotel that housekeeping uses, and offered nothing in terms of reimbursement for laundry services, my stay, or otherwise. Don't stay here if you want to spend the last days of your "vacation" in a laundromat.

The staff was amazing! They are very knowledgeable. My only regret is not asking earlier for their assistance. They could have booked all our tickets. They got us into an amazing cooking class at the last minute that we loved! Although an older hotel, the location is perfect for downtown.

Wonderful location & extemely efficient helpful staff. Stairs/lift to reception lower overall score given.

This was my 3rd visit to Florence and this hotel out shined my last 2. The owners were extremely attentive and generous with their time whenever I asked for recommendations. Very clean, well kept and an excellent breakfast was included. Can't beat the location! Will definitely stay here again!!
