Had a long layover and booked at Basileus hotel and had incredible experience. 24 hour layover turned into a mini getaway because of Basileus hotel. Excellent Comfort on a budget, great value for money in the heart of Sultanahmet, full of old-fashioned charm. Excellent location, just a 5-15 minuets walking distance to most of the premier tourist attractions like The ancient Hippodrom, Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Spice Market, and the Aya Sofya, the gardens, Grand Bazaar, massive covered market (where everyone comes), and Basilica Cistern (one of Istanbul's most surprising tourist attractions). I loved the meandering olden streets, shops & restaurants along the street, no high rise buildings, no hustle bustle, quiet, serene, environs. Its just like a cozy home, where the managers are very amiable, friendly, very cultured & responsive. And the on- the- house sumptuous breakfast, free water bottles, tea, coffee, and other assistance add to the charm of Basileus. Thank and Accolades to you Mr Umer & Mr Ahmad! Keep it up!
