The Triton is a quite recently upgraded, three-star hotel in Kos town, close to the port and the town center, and a small beach just across the street. The location is excellent for visiting the town. The ground floor restaurant has good Italian style pizza, and serves passable breakfast. We stayed there one night at the end of July. While the upgrade has refreshed the rooms a bit, I could have done the bathroom tiling and floor skirting better myself (and I work at an office desk). We had ordered a mini suite (two rooms) for five persons, a couple with three kids. When we arrived, the staff had not read the order correctly, and only prepared four beds. This was quickly arranged, though. The floor was not swept, but there were clean sheets and towels available, and the bathroom was nice, and furniture comfy. When the kids should go to bed, the air condition did not work in their room. We could not open the window, as this would switch off the AC in both rooms(!) The night porter was not able to fix this, so we tucked the kids in the double bed, and lay sweating the night through at 30˚C+ in the other room. Finally got a few hours of sleep in the morning. Next day, the manager was unwilling to give any discount, on the principle that he had no cut to share on Internet orders, and AC broke down from time to time anyhow. We won't live on the Triton again.
