Kamala's Boutique Guesthouse

This place is near the center, not too far from the airport, and close enough to the shopping and food areas. There are bars, shops, restaurants, currency exchanges, boxing shows, a huge area for bird feeding (great for pictures), tattoo shops, and even a place to do laundry. We stayed here before we flew to Phuket and it felt so much like home that we decided to stay again once we returned. The second time though, a storm had soaked the room we were supposed to stay in. The owner then took it upon herself to offer us a slightly different kind of room there or to have her employees drive us about 3 minutes to her second location. We decided to take the same room at the second location. This place was just as nice and still in walking distance from all of the above. They have amazing customer service. They do require a 500 baht deposit. I used cash and got the full 500 back both times. They have AC and free water/coffee.

Excellent location to Thapae gate and you can easilt tour around the old city. There are free coffee and tea served at the lobby and the staff is quite friendly.

The guest house is behind McDonald's,between old city and market.Easy get transport with tutu or sheotal. Room is big but old and noisy.Accetaptable with what you pay. Staffs are helpful speak English. Restaurant nearby.

location is good as it is just located across the road from tha phe gate. but for solo female traveler, the door lock on the room and the balcony did not seem secure. it is just like room door, easy to be open without key. it feels unsafe in my case. and no lift there. only stairs. staff was friendly

Be careful, there’s no lift. We have to carry heavy baggage up several floors. Then water was cut off several times. We gotta inform counter staff and she did pump reset. In the morning I woke up at 6, but water was cut off so I wait till 7am for the staff as there’s no counter staff between 10pm to 7am. Though the room is big, price 1559 Baht is considered high which I expect more bath should have better quality but to my disappointment, the overall experience not match to that high rating I read on Hotels.com review. Location is good. Walking distance to Sunday market which is a crowded night bazaar.

Bad experience . First day no water in the room and they overcharge a lot because I loose a simple room key. Overall the management don't react professional in my opinion . I can't recommend this guesthouse .

Kamala the owner is super sweet. At first I went to the wrong location (she has two hotels) and she quickly sorted everything for me. The staff are real nice and the room is comfortable. Really good value and location is perfect if you want to be in the center of everything.

It's a great little guesthouse in a perfect location. It's in a quiet ally between two streets with everything from restaurants to pagodas to unique shops. It's just across from the Tha Phae Gate. I've stayed twice and would do it again.
