Place needs help..
As we walked in the room the smell of bleach was very strong.. the table was not clean water marks on it. The chairs were very stained a one had crusted food speck on it. Then the tv didn’t work so tried calling front desk and the phone didn’t work either.. so had to look up the hotel and call on my cell. Finally was able to get the tv to work.. it have a kitchenette with a full size fridge that made a loud noise… the bathroom floor had foot marks from mopping that dried on the floor . Then this morning on our way to breakfast, the elevator got stuck for several minutes and the people were able to crawl out… needless to say we took the stairs till we checked out. Breakfast was good. They had hot eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, orange juice and milk.. the hotel seems mainly used by oilfield workers. Definitely needs a new elevator.. since it can only hold 4 people. Oh then if you’re the type that needs it to be a dark room to sleep.. forget it the sheer curtains is all they have no room darkening at all . So light from the parking lot at night and the sunshine in the morning.. We have stayed at a worse hotel than this , but it definitely needs updating.

Stains all over the upholstered arm chair. Pillows were varying degrees of lumpy. Overall, the wear and tear was obvious.

What ever happened to Customer Service
First of all, I must tell you than I am handicapped and require a walker. So getting around is not so easy. I was kind mad when the agent said I needed the license off my Car. No one else was in the Lobby. There were 2 employees. No one offered to help me. However after I went outside one of them brought out a pad and paper for me. If she went outside, couldn't she have gone outside to get it firsthand?? Ok so I let that go. When I went up to my room I was confronted with the photo I posted. See the dust. Filthy! So I called the front desk and found out the room had not been cleaned for at least 2 weeks because no one had stayed there. Now this is a handicap room. Do you think someone could have checked to see if it was clean? My last complaint is about the Bed. It was not comfortable at all. It was also not the same as the pictures provided on the Web sight. I expect more of a Wyndham Hotel. This certainly failed. I hope it is an isolated incident and not indicative of the new customer service. Another point that riled me is that the employee on duty offered me nothing in the way of compensating me for the lack of service. I didn't ask for anything, and I surely did not receive anything except for a "I'm Sorry". If you have mobility issues, This is not the place to stay!!

Disappointing
Each Thanksgiving I travel to the beach with my family and stay at a resort that meets a particular set of criteria. This year we chose North Padre Island over our usual destination. I looked for a resort to specifically meet my criteria: beach access, bar, breakfast, restaurant, and hot tub. Additionally, this year I was hoping to find one with a gym as well. When we booked this trip six months ago, it appeared to meet those criteria. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, it fell far short. The beach access is fabulous and the outdoor bar is pricey but offers great views and seating. The first morning, breakfast was never put out and the coffee was from the previous day. A TAD more was offered for breakfast the following mornings. It was scant and they put it out late and put it away early. The restaurant/grill was closed for remodeling and from what I could gather, the hot tub hadn’t worked in months. The hotel is beautiful and has potential, but it’s rundown - carpet stains and tape in the elevator holding the panels on. The staff was friendly. I don’t think it’s laziness on their part, but rather lack of resources. I shouldn’t be charged a “resort fee” of $35 a night per room when I’m not getting the benefits of staying at a resort. We booked three rooms. We won’t be back.

Not worth it
It was ok. I was expecting more based on the reviews is why I chose this hotel. First thing I was welcomed by a cockroach on the table in which were suppose to eat which was gross. Second the housekeeper took out the trash and I asked for extra trash bags and towels, said she’d be back and never returned. Third bought food to heat up on the stove and it didn’t work. Breakfast might have been the only decent thing about this stay.

Customer service was great and staff was very accommodating. The lobby and outer appearance makes the hotel look nice, but the room we had told another story. I have pictures but the chairs were stained and look unsanitary. The paper towels in the kitchen area had stuff on them. The kitchen soap had hair stuck to it. The walls had stains on them. When we went to breakfast the dining room chairs were horribly stained and did not look sanitary to sit on. This hotel would be really nice if housekeeping was a TOP priority.
