Wonderful stay with a wonderful room. Nice location within easy walking distance to local attractions. Close access to the metro for travel to the airport. Restaraunt and bar were also quite nice.

Beautiful, quirky but useful room. Very spacious with a sitting area you wouldn’t expect in this price range. Tasty breakfast. Friendly staff. We found the bed, particularly the pillows, not ideal but had the same experience throughout Germany, so I think it’s a matter of different customs not this hotel doing anything a German would see as inferior.

Great hotel in a great area . Really funky and great staff . All spoke English . Car parking for 15 euro under hotel so very handy . Our room was great with air con and could open windows . Easy walk to everything. Would love to stay again .

The building in which the 25hours Hotel Altes Hafenamt is housed is in itself beautiful and historic. It is more than 100-years old and the owners have done a truly magnificent job of restoring it to its original splendour and creating from it a wonderful, quirky, comfortable hotel. On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and spoke to me in perfect English. He was informative and explained that due to the age of the property I would have to go up to the first floor (by stairs or lift) then walk to the opposite end of the building to complete my journey to a spacious room on the fourth floor. The rooms are really quaint with all sorts of lovely amenities such as a cuddly bunny rabbit and a hot water bottle placed on the bed for added comfort, or perceived security perhaps, at night. There is an illuminated globe and there was a leaf tea selection, which is such a pleasant change from the ubiquitous teabags everyone else serves. The mattress and pillows were just the right texture, but the quilt was not long enough to cover the length of the bed let alone my (quite) large frame and 1.85 m length. Happily though, the 'double' bed was in fact two single beds placed alongside each other and each with its own quilt, so I used the second to cover my feet and a comfortable night's sleep was had after all.

The rooms are stylish, very spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed and very quiet. So all you need for a few days of business travel. I was very happy with the level of service and flexibility of the hotel staff during my stay wand the overall feel of the hotel is very relaxed and pleasant. In addition, I loved the breakfast, which offers great options and at the buffet, but goes beyond a typical breakfast.
