Check-in (particularly a "late" check in) is a bit of a pain... and we arrived about 7:30pm (not really a "late" arrival, IMO).
The cabin(s) are located at separate location from the "office" (which I did not know in advance). This required a short drive back to the main location to get the "key". Upon arrival, we had to then call and get a code, in order to unlock a "lockbox" and retrieve the door code for the cabin's electronic door lock.
Once in the room and settled, we discovered that there was no hot water to fill the large whirlpool tub (one of the main reasons we picked these cabins). The water was luke-warm at best. Also, the gas-log fireplace had no lighting instructions (and I couldn't find the ignition switch), so we couldn't enjoy a fire (it got down to about 55° overnight). Of course, with inadequate (no) hot water, the following morning's shower was quite an eye-opener!
Overall, the cabin was quaint, but really very funky. Definitely looked thrown together, and not particularly well maintained.
As a bonus, the particular night we were there was the start of a "biker" weekend event, so lots of [noisy] Harleys making there way up and down the road, and all through town the following day... Great if you like the sound of un-muffled, two-cylinder engines.
Upon check-out the following day, we notified the desk about the issues, but all they would offer was a discount for our next stay (and that ain't gonna happen!).
Disappointing at best...
