Below expectations
The apartment was nice and clean but I did not enjoy my stay,
1. I had a hard time getting to the place. There are two Papaya Hotels in the Chundevi area - this is not mentioned on the website and I ended up going to the wrong one.
2. I chose to stay here because it was very close to my meeting venue. The hotel is located in a residential area and there are no convenient coffee shops or restaurants nearby. Food has to be ordered in.
3. The kitchen is non-functional without even basic supplies.- not even a couple of teabags or a packet of biscuits. The website does not specify that people should organise their own groceries. There is no electric kettle. There is a drinking water dispenser but it was almost empty - I discovered this late at night when I woke up thirsty. It was too late to call the caretaker o replace the empty water container so I spent a thirsty night.
4. The bathroom is similarly bare - there is no toilet paper. The shower is a feeble one and leaves one feeling kind of half-washed. there was no bucket or mug for those of us who prefer a traditional South Asian bucket bath.
5. All the lights are low wattage - I had a webinar to run and even with everything turned on, it looked like I was connecting from some dark cave.
6. The caretaker is a pleasant and helpful young man. Maybe he just needs to be told how to set up the place for new guests.
