Genuinely ridiculous. We’re new to the area, and have never had an issue checking into hotels, as we’re all 18+. I reserved this hotel almost a month in advance, and nowhere on the reservation did it give me any information regarding needing to be 21+ to check-in. When we got into the property, we attempted to check-in, and the man at the front was rude straight off the bat. My personal screw-up was forgetting my id, which he was understandably unsympathetic about. I’d like to say now that I maintained respectful the entire conversation, and seeing as my id was 4 hours away at the time, I took a second to add my partner to the reservation, so he could show his id. Please keep in mind this room was for one night, and prepaid, (by myself), and the man felt the need to dryly inform me that I would not be getting a refund “if I couldn’t get it figured out.” My partner then showed his ID, to which the man behind the desk then sucked his teeth and asked if anyone in our party was over 21, and that they would also have to show ID when they got here. My question is, why waste our time telling us this information piece by piece, instead of all at once, so we could get on our way? I informed him and once again, he was unsympathetic, and very unprofessional. It was at this point that my respect wore thin, and even then I still did not give this man the awful attitude he gave me. I don’t see myself going back to that Hilton in the future, and I’d advise to hire friendlier staff. Thanks.
