On the first night the noise from the bar in the alley underneath us went on until gone 3am. We were given ear plugs and told we could move rooms in the morning.
We were moved to a room on the other side of the hotel the next day, all seemed well until the night when we realised the windows were not able to be closed as the handle had broken off. When we initially tried to close the windows the safety bar was not secured and my mum fell into the slanted window. There is a screen door which closes but the noise is not stopped at all as the door does not close flush and sealed. The street noise was very loud and as there was a storm too the wind was howling through the gaps. We were given more earplugs and told that maintenance had left for the day so the windows couldn't be closed. The front desk staff told us the only option is to switch rooms, and he would come right back to let us know where we can move to.
15 minutes later he called to say there were no rooms to move to, but they may have one in 45 mins if they have a no show. They called again shortly after to say they had another room, which we were taken to, it turned out to be two rooms below the previous room, even closer to the bar, and the noise was even louder than the night before there. So we returned to our open window room and waited for another call, scheduled for midnight, to let us know if we could move. We decided to stay in the open room window room and try and sleep. I've since had not even an apology
