We booked this hotel more or less as a backup - just to do something else for a few days so we wouldn't spend all our Seychelles days on Mahe. Hotels.com rating was not THAT great, so our expectations were average - and we were met with grey weather and rain. First impression when arriving on the Silhouette was not the best -the place looked average, especially on that grey day. All this changed quite quickly. That day was the only one with rain and we spent most of it sleeping anyway. Woke up to find the sun shining on a beautiful beach just outside our bedroom door. We chose to upgrade to a beach villa and really found it worth it. The rooms are probably the same as the garden ones, but just pulling the curtains to the side, opening the balcony door and having about 10m to walk before you're in the ocean is worth it! View from the bedroom, and sleeping with the door open, listening to the ocean just outside was amazing! We tried 4 out of the 5 hotel restaurants and were very happy with them all - especially the Japanese one. With the expectations I had to prices after reading other reviews, I was actually positively surprised. Ok, not cheap, but what else to expect? Saving the best for last: Out of all the high end hotels I have been to in my life, the service at this one is in a league of its own! Those guys did everything thinkable at any given time, and everyone seems to be genuinely happy - smiling all the time (this goes for all of Seychelles by the way). Go there!
