We arrived at around 8pm Monday night, when we arrived at the property there was a key code needed to enter which we had not been provided, we could not get any answer by knocking so tried to contact by calling and messaging the WhatsApp number I had been receiving updates from. It took around 30 minutes before we finally got through and were given a code to enter the building.
We had paid for the room with the bath which was lovely, the bathroom itself however had a constant smell of drains.
We were woken up most mornings early hours by the noise outside of people shouting as our room was directly above the street.
One afternoon we had gone back to our room after a day of walking and laid down, about 20 minutes later I heard the room door open, no knocking, and the cleaner walked in, he quickly walked back out after realising we were in there however our room had already been cleaned whilst we were out so I’m unsure why he would need to come in.
A lot of these problems possibly could have been solved by speaking to someone on reception, the problem was that there was never anybody on reception, the whole 4 days we were there we only ever seen the cleaners.
The location however is excellent, we were in walking distance to most things with lovely food and cafes just around the corner.
Overall the room itself was okay and we were still glad we had upgraded as the bath was lovely after a day of walking but there are many minor issues that could be improved.
