The hotel has a great location, a top ranked restaurant, the rooms are big and clean and everything is seemingly great. However, the experience is reduced by the fact that everything costs extra, even genuine service it feels like. If you book the cheapest room with no upgrades, you feel like a second tier guest. The main photo (of the sun-deck and view) from the hotel online is only available from level 2 rooms, after an expensive upgrade. As the hotel is far from the cheapest to begin with, be prepared to spend money in order to have a great experience here. There is nothing wrong with the hotel as such, but the attempts for "extras" and "upgrades" really put me off, along with their replies to negative feedback online. I understand that not all negative feedback has merit, but arrogant or dismissive replies does not invite trust or the feeling of good service. The hotel does inform about all upgrades and pricing and does not try to cheat anyone, but the information may be easy to overlook for many. As for other details, the free city parking in the panoramic olive garden is great, no need to pay for hotel parking. The wifi is sometimes slow and has a registration and logon portal that is impractical and further strengthens the feel of "not service oriented". What could have been a great hotel experience in a very nice hotel was reduced to the least memorable and most expensive hotel stay of our trip around the lake.
