Hotel is in a superb location. Minutes from central station and a huge shopping centre. Rooms clean and well equipped. No issues with fees etc and a smooth experience. There is building work going on outside the hotel at the moment but it didn't impact hugely on our stay. Staff were super friendly and the room very well appointed (except those silly fridges… why can’t I have room to place things in the fridge). The one thing I would love to see is an exit from level 1 or is it 2 directly to the train station. Lugging luggage up that ramp was a struggle.

I chose the hotel because of its convenience for the railway Central Station. They notified us on arrival there would be building noise each day from 10 to 4 pm - yes it was noisy and continued to 5pm. Hotel was extemely busy, long queues in reception, the "highly sophisticated" call systen for the elevators had several problem and we had to nominate our time for breakfast as it was so crowded.

The hotel was great - it seemed to be always busy at reception but well-managed. Our room was spacious and clean. The hotel is next to the bus and train stations but not linked. Some noise from the works across the road were noted at some points during the day, but we do appreciate the notice provided days before our arrival. The pillows were too soft and didn’t provide any neck support. Just outside the hotel (about 5 steps away from the main entrance) were some sketchy people. There was a man with his backpack on the ground who followed my husband too closely, making us feel unsafe in our first few hours in Oslo. From then on, I made sure I didn’t leave the hotel on my own when it was dark.

About the best thing you can say about this property is that it is in a good location. When the temperature is hot outside, the rooms are very warm. The staff said that while the rooms are ventilated, they really aren’t air conditioned. So they advised us to open the windows. The problem is there is a massive construction project across the street where work is done around the clock. So you can’t really open the windows and get any sleep. It looks as though this project will go on for years. There are much better options in Oslo.

We were met by a rude and grumpy receptionist. She was supposed to notice housekeeping that our couples blanket was to be replaced with 2 singles blankets. She did not do that, so I had to follow that up when we got back to the hotel room late at night. Also, I have never experienced to run out of toilet paper in a hotel room before. There's a first for everything. Breakfast was fantastic! And both the breakfast and the cleaning personel were all very nice.
