Being a frequent five star hotel dweller, I can say The Palace fails to meet the standard one would expect from a five star.
Room: Upon arrival, the room was firstly not prepared for all three guests. The following days, housekeeping didn’t clean the room properly, left areas untouched, and only stocked amenities (towels, water bottles, soaps, cups ++) for two people even though it was obvious that three people lived here. Even when contacting housekeeping, they promised to fix it, but never came to it. One of the flush buttons at the toilet wasn’t working. One chair had a loose chair leg. The front desk promised to send a person from maintenance to fix it. Later I found out, he just put the leg back under the chair without actually fixing it. They key cards were seriously faulty, had to change eight times during a five night stay.
Other: Some key equipment at the gym was broken. First day there was no water cups left by the cooler or towels, second day there was no water left in the cooler (at noon!), and no information or phone to contact front desk etc. to inform. Gym room closes at 10 pm, pool/sauna at 8 pm, which both is a bit too early imo.
Overall this hotel is not worthy it’s stars or price level. It may be worth choosing a four star in the area and saving some money, or selecting another five star from a more recognizable brand which hopefully meets the expected level.
