The general rule is as always: you get what you pay for. To think that you will get to stay in a 5 star hotel for the price of this hotel, is unrealistic. How they received their 5 stars is a mystery but if you instead expect a 3-4 star hotel, you will have more accurate expectations. Its in the hotel’s interest to change their stars to 4 (or 3stars) because that would lower people’s expectations and they would get better reviews.
Very friendly and helpful staff all over. Didn’t meet even one unfriendly member of staff. The first day we asked for more deck chairs, more pillows, a drying rack for the balcony and we got everything straight away. We also had a big lovely balcony with beautiful views. The a/c was ok and the room was in good temperature all week despite 35 or more degrees outside. We asked for another keycard and had the a/c running also when we weren’t in the room.
I liked the booking system for the sunbeds. It was a bit confusing to start with but relaxing not having to get up early and put your towels to reserv beds like in a lot of places.
The location in terms of getting to and from the airport was great, only took 20 mins and the hotel offered transport for €30 (cost €40 with taxi).
The less great things would be that it’s a bit run down, cleaners knocking on the door at 8.30, not great storage for clothes, small room for being a ”family room”, not comfortable extra beds for kids. All in all it was good value for the money we paid.
