We arrived in the pouring rain and it was a bit of a hike from the road up some steep, uneven steps to get to the property. The hotel is set in a beautiful garden with an absolutely breathtaking view of the bay. The front desk person was kind but spoke limited English. He showed us to our room, which was charming and unique, great for a romantic getaway. Everything, down to the wooden door locks, is homemade. It is built into the hill, meaning boulders and tree branches are inside the room! It also means the room is not completely sealed, and bugs and geckos can get in. They have a beautiful mosquito net covering the bed, which we made use of and didn’t have any problem. We also enjoyed the open air bathroom with hot water- it was nice to shower with a beautiful view of the bay. Using the toilet at night or in the rain is a bit uncomfortable, though! Also, privacy is limited due to lots of windows and thin curtains that don’t exactly connect. The service was quite lacking- it was hard to find someone at the front desk or restaurant when we needed something. The English was very limited, meaning we pulled out google translate a lot. This place is NOT SUITABLE for anyone with mobility limitations, and I would be fearful of having small children here due to the lack of railings around the property. But, if you’re looking for a peaceful setting with a very beautiful, unique room, this may be for you!
Very unique and original place to stay. I had to hike (LOL) just a little bit to go to my room. Amazing views. And thanks, Dj, for her hospitality and help. We will come back
no wifi available when specifically asked for it other than that was fantastic
Solo diver needed bed for a few nights so I’m not looking for much from a hotel. Great view but at a cost to your comfort, the noise flows gently up the hill from the town below until the mosque’s kick in at 4:30am and then your serenity is obliterated. Carrying over 150 pounds of dive gear up and down the borderline treacherous steps/rocky incline is no joke even for a fit guy like me. AC can’t keep up due to no insulation and gaps in villa walls. It’s authentic, different, charming, rustic, wonderful staff if you can find them or break through the language barrier. Owner is a lovely Greek lady. I would stay again but this is not a place for those who expect luxury with peace and quiet. Lastly the road to the villas is dark and daunting at night so if you’re a solo female even though the area is safe I would recommend doing your homework.
The view is amazing, but is was very hot and tha ac didn’t cool the room. WiFi didn’t work, the staff spoke no English and tried to charge me again after I tried to explain them that is was already paid when I booked the room.
I would give this place 5* for views (best in town), 3.5* for the room, and 2-3* for service (local restaurant never had anything). And, remove all those artificial flowers from the room — it’s tropical paradise outside, just pick up fresh flowers every day! Good rustic place, but they have no idea about service!
The place is amazingly great but its a bit to far from town area as you need to grab an Ojek from your hotel to town area. Perfect view facing the Labuan Bajo Port and excelllent services provided by the staffs. They really took care of me throughout my stay in Labuan Bajo.Excellent spot for those who really needs a quite peacefull mind
While it looks lovely in the pictures, the hotel is poorly maintained. We got minimal room service during our stay, and were often stranded for food. The climb up and down through rocky terrain felt uncomfortable for us, so ensure you're up for that before staying with them.
no amenities whatsoever, and it is a nightmare to get to the hotel
Very friendly staff & amazing room! The view was incredible.
