First of all, to put things in perspective: We payed ~200€ per night without breakfast. This was one of the cheapest hotels in the area at the time of our booking.
First, the negatives:
—
Rom was small for the price. No cuboard to put clothes in and not much space in general to put things in.
Bathroom was small and the shower cabinet was tiny.
Corridors were tight and dark.
The surrounding area is not pleasant, especially at night.
Breakfast closed at 09:30 which we feel is a bit too early compared to many other hotels.
The positives:
—
Staff were kind and pleasant.
Room was clean and modern.
Shower was pleasant with instant cold water.
Toilet was modern with good flush.
Minibar with fridge temperature.
Air condition.
French balcony.
Close to both gare du nord and gare de l’est.
Conclusion:
—
For 200€ a night and a 3 star hotel, we expect a certain amount of comfort. The hotel does pretty decent job, and does great on cleanliness, but overall it feels a bit claustrophobic and not fully worth the price. It makes us wonder if saving the extra 50-100€ was worth it.
