Lower your expectations on service and cleanliness
The villa was a bit run down but we expect that now. The big problem was the service, including the cleaning. The place overall was a bit grubby and even though it is advertised as daily housekeeping we only really had one clean, and that was after two nights. We had to ask for fresh towels on day 3 and the ones we got were musty. They said they would be back with more but never came. On day 4 we asked for the sheets to be changed and were told they do it after 3 days. When we pointed out that it had been three days they said “maybe tomorrow”. It never happened. The breakfast was nice but always 30-90 minutes late (so don’t make early plans!) and if you have a preference for a type of juice you have to tell them every day the day before or they will default back to whatever they have. The downstairs/master bathroom also has a nasty drain smell. We got used to it but if you are sensitive to smalls stay somewhere else. The location is great, as is the pool, but the service is poor. If you go in with low expectations you will probably have a good time but if you are a clean freak or are expecting high levels of service then stay away.
