The hotel building seems very badly built and has narrow, dark corridors, musty rooms, no sound proofing whatsoever (you keep hearing the "ding" sounds from the elevator day and night), and beginning mold problems (smell) despite being brand new. There is no minibar/fridge, no trash can in the room, no water bottles, room service asks for 20% extra to bring food to your room, the restaurant closed at 9:15 p.m. even though the bell boy said it was open until 10. They then don't let food delivery come up to your room, so you have to go down to meet them. The bed is okay but keeps wiggling when you turn around. Building noise during the day, coming from inside the hotel. The breakfast is the poorest one we have eaten in years, and if you want a couple of dry pancakes you will have to pay extra for it. The breakfast sausages were inedible, tasted like the lowest quality horse meat you can think of. The two types of juices were really bad. The people who work here are very nice, however. The social area at the top of the building is good. There is no gym. In the area around the hotel there are street walkers of various types. There is a pretty simple restaurant close by, straight out to the avenue. The Caledonia neighborhood is not very recommended for walking, according to locals, we have read about day and night armed robberies etc. in this area. Otherwise not much going on in this neighborhood. Quick ride into more central parts of the city if you avoid the rush hours.
