Disappointing stay, work needs to be done
Overall we had a disappointing stay, which is a shame as this hotel was once of very high quality.
Sadly we were not informed prior to our stay, that there was major construction in the hotel.
The rooms and corridors are tired, to the point where carpet is now fraying and we found our air conditioner to be noisy. It definitely does not have the look and feel of a 5 star hotel
The covid screens make check-in and check-out impersonal. I have very bad hearing and it was impossible to communicate clearly with the staff because of these glass screens. It was a disappointing start to the trip, and the fact these privacy screens are still installed in 2025 is quite frankly a joke.
The restaurant is excellent and the bar staff are quite frankly some of the best in the business. As the shining star in the hotel, they need special recognition.
