Where do I start. This is my fifth or sixth stay at PP over the last half a dozen or so years, especially around the holidays when I’m visiting Boston for the holidays. It’s always been a reasonably pleasurable experience. Amenities were good. Cleanliness was always good, rooms have always been a little rundown, but that’s par for the course with 100+ year building. Unfortunately, it sounds like it was recently acquired by Hilton, which in fairness I always had pretty good experiences with, however, this property is really lacking a lot of direction atm. The rooms were not clean at all. In fact, I had two rooms and each had very similar cleanliness issues mainly in the bathrooms, but that leads me to believe What else isn’t clean in the room. In addition as it’s a hotel frequented by airline staff, their cleaning schedules are odd to the point where they actually clean up till 1130 at night so you will get a lot of background noise vacuuming door is opening and closing into basically the early morning hours. The rooms also had no amenities such as sewing kits, ear q-tips, extras, etc. Also, room service and menus also no longer provided. It’s frankly sad to see how much the hotel has changed in a short period since Hilton took over. I get it. It’s about profitability, but I would certainly encourage management to reevaluate a bit.
I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon. There are certainly better options in the greater Boston area.
