Stayed at the Nugget during the weekend of Easter. Arrived around 7pm. No line at check in. The employee at hotel check in was very nice and got us a room on the floor with the pool (5th). Our room was spacious, which is nice when you have kids.
We left and had dinner at a different hotel. We got back around 10pm and found out one of the lamps had a burnt out bulb. I called to ask for it to be changed because the room was very dim. Not the best lighting for an “updated” room in the Resort Tower. I waited for over an hour and no one ever showed up. I called the front desk again and they said they would send someone up. This time I also asked for two additional pillows. I waited until midnight and still no bulb or pillows. So I walked down to the front desk and asked again as it was late and we were trying to go to bed. Finally about 30 minutes later, we got the bulb changed and a couple pillows.
We ate at Rosie’s Cafe. The food and portion sizes were good. The staff was friendly. Prices were fair.
We gambled a little in the evening, slot machines seemed to be pretty tight.
That night one of my kids had an accident in the bed. Housekeeping was quick to bring bedding, but then just handed it to me and had no offer to come in and make the bed even though I had already taken the other bedding off.
Overall, I would stay there again because the price was right but the building is old and the ventilation is bad. The smell of smoke is heavy, even in smoke free rooms and areas
