We stayed at Hotel Excelsior 5 nights. We took the public transport from airport to lido, this cost 15 eur per pers and was a much cheaper than what the hotel offers. They offered a taxi boat from 120 eur, and the public transportation only used 15 minutes longer time. When we arrived the check-in went smooth, and we got to chechk in at 12. Which is positive, since the check in is14.00. The hotel was luxurious, clean and nice. We lived in standard room which was big and very nice with big bathroom and a view towards the canal. The hotel offers free transport to venice through the day which was really great, leaving every half hour. What supprised us what the prices at the hotel. Renting sunbeds at the beach costs 300 eur a day!! And no cheaper alternative. However beds at the pool was free, but you have to be early. The prices for food and drinks at the pool was so expensive, 10 eur for a bottle of water!! 17 eur for a drink!! We were suprised by these prices, and you were not allowed to bring own water or anything. 22 eur for a simple ceasar salad, 8 eur for a coffe. We understood why people were not drinking or eating at the hotel. The breakfest was very crowded and noisy, and the coffe was very thin and not warm. If you want more coffee you have to ask several waitors and be patient. All in all, nice hotel, but do not eat or drink here!
