Booked a special "offer of the day" price at Hotels.Com and paid in advance for a double room for 4 nights for 2 persons, although staying alone. At check-in, room first given to me was not at all according to the booking and the pictures in the booking information. Complained, and finally the 3rd room given was similar to the booking. Hotel now wanted extra money for this, claiming it was "SUPERIOR ROOM" (although it looked exactly like the one advertised in my order). I claimed it not fair to pay extra and had to argue about it, before hotel finally accepted my claim. I have stayed in many hotel rooms in my travels and I am a reasonable person. So it is not so much the extra money, but the principle. Not so nice experience. Will not stay there again I believe.
Make sure you get the room that you originally ordered, as some hotels tends to give the least attractive rooms to Hotels.Com offers/clients at check in.
Otherwise the hotel is OK if you like staying close to Gran Via area.
