I had to have maintenance fix the phone . The heating system fan would not turn off so had to be walked through how to do it- not user friendly and the TV had to be restarted on the system end as it wouldn’t load the channels. Also the toilet paper holder fell to ground and the toilet paper was on the floor. I had to find a maid to get a fresh roll. Oh and a lamp would not work. The breakfast was not good. Holiday express is better and the nightly advertised bar and snacks was closed.

The hotel was nice and we appreciated the breakfast. The breakfast staff was especially friendly and helpful. Parking was a problem, with only valet offered, or paid parking across the street.

Good hot breakfast! Self-park in city-run parking building across the street is convenient. Would stay again if travelling to Portland.

Cons:
Paper thin walls.
Loudest hotel we have ever stayed at.
Cheap extra firm spring mattresses.
Front desk lacks customer service skills.
$40 valet parking.
Pros:
Centrally located.
Parking garage near by has $15 overnight self parking- forego valet.
Breakfast included.
First time we called to request early check in front desk agent named Cambria answered the phone with Hello? Needs to be trained on how to answer a phone at a business. Was not helpful. When we checked in at the desk we asked again for an early check in. The lady blamed systems issues on Microsoft outage just like Cambria. The systems were up and running to check in and out, how are you unable to accommodate? Told they were sold out. That we had no choice to wait till 3PM. A man behind us walked in to ask about room rates. Lady proceeded to say we have multiple rooms available. The front desk employees lack good customer service skills and enthusiasm. They represent the company and I personally will not choose a Hyatt again due to this poor experience. We came to the lobby with our bags since we were driving from southern oregon for a wedding and sat to wait at 1:45. About 10 mins later the front desk lady says we have a room ready now. Why make it harder for someone when they are asking for 1-2 hr early check in? I worked in hospitality for many years and we always had people checking out early and rooms were done way in advance. Just be honest and helpful.
