We were in town for a family wedding.Upon check in the issues already started with payment. Half of the payment was already pre authorized when we got there. Instead of charging the remaining balance, they insisted on processing full payment, plus a $50 deposit. Payment kept declining because they already were holding $114 of the total $229 stay. So trying to process $279 in addition to the $114 already being held wasn’t working because now there was only $220 left in the account to charge. The desk insisted once the room was checked into, the $114 would immediately return to the account. We ended up paying for the room, in full, in cash, thinking the 114 that was being held would be “immediately returned”. Instead, we got to our room and discovered that ANOTHER $114 was processed to our card. So now, we have paid for the room IN FULL, twice. The money was NOT immediately returned. In fact, it took a FULL WEEK for that money to be returned to our bank, which ultimately left us broke the whole weekend for our family wedding. And if that weren’t enough, when we got into the room, it was filthy. Everything was sticky from the surfaces, to the bathroom floor, to what appeared to be dried up lotion (I hope) on the furniture. The inside of the microwave was completely nasty. It wasn’t even vacuumed.We went and got extra sheets to cover the furniture, and a bottle of cleaner to clean down the room ourselves before we could even be comfortable.
