For a five-star hotel, the rooms were quite disappointing. The hotel lobby itself was beautiful and grand, but the room was old and dated. There was only one free plug in the room to charge my devices (I had to unplug the lamps). The sink and shower did not drain properly during my first night. I reported this to the staff and they were unapologetic. The sink drain was eventually fixed, but not the shower drain. The shower also leaked profusely from the corners, so the bathroom would be filled with puddles after showering. The mattresses were sagging. The toiletries (e.g. cotton swabs, soaps) were not refilled during my stay. The front desk staff were not very welcoming or especially pleasant.
On the positive side, breakfast was amazing and the staff there were very friendly and polite. The housekeeping team did a great job making up the room. Despite being old and in need of maintenance, the room (and the hotel in general) was very clean. Overall, it was an okay stay, but not what I expected from the Corinthia.
