The Europa hotel sends you right down memory lane to cold war Moscow, with the lack of light in the bathroom, the general lack of daylight, the synthetic sheets that don't quite cover the bumby, downtrodden matrass, the door that won't quite shut, the window that opens up to a small space from where the people in the neighbouring room can enter yours, and the general squalid feel to the room. The people in the reception were very friendly, though. And the wi-fi worked.
