I recently stayed at Breathless Soul in Cancun and had mixed experiences. While the hotel had some standout qualities, it also had several areas in need of improvement.
First, the positives: The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant stay. The security was also top-notch, and I felt very safe throughout my visit, which is a huge plus when traveling.
However, there were some significant downsides. Unfortunately, the room I stayed in had mold in the shower. The counters and surfaces in the room were also not as clean as I would have expected, which detracted from the overall experience. Given the price point, I was hoping for a higher level of cleanliness and attention to detail. During our stay the mirror also fell off the wall.
Expedia showed a picture of a beautiful hot tub on our balcony but when we walked into the room there was no hot tub. Expedia needs to stop with this behavior as it is the second time this has happened to us while booking with them.
Overall, the location, staff, and security were great, but the lack of cleanliness and presence of mold were definitely issues that impacted my stay. Hopefully, with some improvements in maintenance, Breathless Soul can live up to its potential.
