This is a decent hotel for a very high price. The reason for the one star is not the quality of the hotel itself, but because of the mismatch between what is advertised and what you get.
While this is advertised as a 5-star hotel, what you get is nowhere close. The room is clean and simpel, but the bathroom was very old and worn. The aircondition works, but makes a LOT of noise. The beds felt worn down, and the sheets felt more like paper than cloth, and would be more at home in an army barrack from the 1960s.
The pool was nice enough, but was obviously a remnant of time when the Soviet Union still existed. The Garden area (hot tubs and relaxation) was absurdly expensive for a two-hour stay. (However, the spa treatments was reasonably priced).
The most positive thing about our stay was the location near the beach and the breakfast. The beach restaurant was also quite good, but once again quite expensive.
We had a great time in Jurmala, but I would not recommend using my money on this hotel. You get a 2-star room, while you pay for much more. There was several nice small hotels a bit further from the beach, although you would miss out on this hotels beach service, which was on the positive side.
