Staff at the hotel were always helpful and friendly. Check in was available when we arrived late at the night, and also no problem with late check-out.
They helped to get doctors to the hotel because of a medical emergency. In the end it required treatment at the hospital. But it was good to have staff members that made things easier.
The location of the hotel is great. And it is close to several restaurant, cafés, Complexo Balnear do Lido, centrum of Funchal and more. The pool area of the hotel were quite nice.
But I have to be honest and say that in general. The hotel was pretty outdated and it definitely needs some maintenance. And it was a strange smell in the room. Maybe fungus or mold. No AC, and the safe didn't have a lock. And there was no fridge. Perhaps there are some in other rooms 🤔 But I got the impression that other rooms were better. And we got the opportunity to change room so thumbs up for that.
The food was okey, and you had a few things to choose from.
Overall an okey hotel with a good potential to be even better. Staff were great as mentioned. But hotel needs and upgrade and some maintenance. The hotel is fairly cheap to stay at, so if you want to travel on a budget. Or just dont want to spend a lot on a hotel, this will be a good option.
