This hotel does have nice rooms, a tremendous and beautiful garden, a good breakfast and very service-minded personnel. In most aspects, it is closer to a grade V than IV. However, as a family with a small child (3 years old), we had some minor issues with the hotel. First, the swimming-pool is 1 - 1,4 meters deep, only the stair-areas were available for the child. Also, the water was so cold, most people, us included, were a bit reluctant going into it. This was middle june. Second, dinner serving starts at 19.30, a bit late for small children, at least in Scandinavian culture. We found the snack-menu and the food avilable for room-service to be an unsatisfying substitute for dinner. The kitchen in the suite is fairly simple when it comes to cooking, with small pots, two hot plates and a microwave oven. The nearest minimarket is 15-20 minutes walk away and, well, is a minimarket. Thirdly, the localization. It is far away from the beach and from the senter of Cascais. The beach-shuttle should be reserved at least a day in advance to be available, so expect to take a taxi most of the time you would like to go somewhere. The taxis' do not have childrens seats, but the beach-shuttle does. To sum up: I think we would find this hotel to be superb, maybe except for families with small children.
