Nice, classic hotel with friendly staff and perfect location in the centre of Pompeii, few hundred metres from the Pompeii ruins city, and just across from the railway station. The hotel has a nice roof terrace with tables, chairs, sofas, sunbeds and a Jacuzzi whirlpool, where you can cool down and relax while overlooking both the Vesuv volcano and the Amalfi mountain ridge.
Our room had two balconies. One had a nice view at the Vesuv volcano.
The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is, as in many hotels in Italy, long and narrow, and the shower a tad narrow too. The beds are soft, but in lack of a top mattress – you feel that you sleep directly on the metal springs, which is not comfortable.
We were allowed to park our car at no cost in the loading/offloaing parking area right in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, someone scratched our car when making their way into the space in front of our car. This is not the hotel’s fault, but mentioned here as a caution for other travellers. Cars in southern Italy carry evidence of the attitude that bumpers (and sides of cars) are to be "used".
OK continental breakfast with ham, cheese, cereal and fruit – and a selection of sweet cakes, as is common for breakfast in many Italian hotels. Italian coffee was made to order. American coffee was available in the buffet.
Wi-Fi was OK, with acceptable download speed. However, upload speed (e.g. for uploading photos to Dropbox) could definitely be improved.
