While set in a dazzling location along the bay of Baja Smerelda, the Hotel Bisaccia is beset with internal problems: poor staff training, no visible management and an overriding attitude of disdain for their guests. Many of the staff act like they are doing the guest a favor by allowing the guest to stay at the property. After booking one of the most expensive rooms at the property: a full ocean view, deluxe room in a new annex, my husband and I were escorted to a room that had not been air conditioned for many hours and allowed us a view of the bay only from the outside (side) patio. There were no windows in the room that provided a view of the ocean. This was a 70th birthday trip for my husband and he was clearly disappointed with the room and the fact that it was about 100 degrees. The phone in the room did not work; it was not even connected, so it was impossible to call the front desk to discuss an alternate room. At almost $ 700/ night (US) the room should have met our expectations to a much greater degree. As we walked outside to discuss what we should do (it was too uncomfortable to stay in the room), we noticed a room at the very end of the annex with a beautiful patio. The sliding glass door to the room was open (the air conditioning was on) and the room was clearly UNOCCUPIED, allowing us a view of the lay out. We decided we would ask the front desk if we could change to this room. The hotel was not booked to capacity, so it seemed a reasonable request. Not so.....
