Needs upkeep and better service
Second stay in this hotel. On our first stay we were charged twice and there was a lot of hassle to get the payment refunded. Still we wanted to give them a second chance and booked again.
We always keep our hotel rooms tidy and easy for housekeeping to to clean. This was no exception. Tipped housekeeping on the first night and the result was good. Did not tip the second day which resulted in nothing getting done. They didn't even remove the trash and used glasses from our room.
When I ordered drinks (Gin Tonic) in the reseption they insisted that they should bring them to my room although they were mixed and ready and I said wanted to take the drinks myself. For this they added a service charge of 5 % which is rediculous, since I wanted to take the drinks to the room myself.
The hotel, from the elevator to the reception, is in dyer need of some upkeep. Lots of cracked tiles on the walls and loose floor tiles in the bathroom. When showering the whole bathroom floor gets wet, resulting in unnessecary use of fresh towels to dry it up and avoid water damage.
Had a couple of hours to spare in Antwerp after check out, but since the hotel doesn't offer luggage storage we weren't able to make much of the time.
Asked for a receipt at check out. Was told it would be sent to my e-mail. This was yesterday, and still no receipt.
All in all, we wanted to give them a second chance, but was instead convinced we'd be better off staying elsewhere on our next stay in Antwerp.
