The best thing about this so called hotel was the balcony with a view to Mont Blanc, with chairs covered with bird pooh. We were lucky with the weather, so we were able to enjoy it. Upon entering the room we regretted booking it for 2 nights. The room was cramped with furniture, a double bed and a single bed, but we'd booked a twin bed. The bathroom was very small, it felt like being on a boat. The first night our heater didn't work, this we discovered after the reception had closed at 10pm, with only a thin blanket, no duvet available at this time of year, I'd to sleep fully dressed to remain at a low level of freezing. The next day, the heater was on full blast, no possibility to regulate, just as nice. But the worst thing was the breakfast we paid 9,5Euro extra for. Upon arrival we asked about the content of the breakfast, we were explained that it was fairly exstensive with food for hot meals, bread, pastry, cheese, ham, and with juice, tea, coffee. We asked if it would be in the manner of a continental breakfast, but this was denied profusively. So, one might say that we were very suprised the next morning. NO hot food, a continental breakfast with only one bread available at all times, a baguette- that wasn't in anyway similiar to what we found at the french bakeries. A single croissant, from the freezer- nice when you're in France, a platter of just ham and one type of cheese and a fruit salaf made by hotel staff. I ate two slices of bread, after that I'd a terrible stomach ache, which lasted all day and ruined our excursion to Aiguille du midi. After breakfast we went straight to the reception to complain, but we received no understanding and we were told there was nothing to do. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The traffic started at 6 am and was located right below our window, si it was impossible to leave the window open, even with the full heat on. The floor was squeaky and not leveled. The only good thing was the free parking space. I supposedly went to a 3 star hotel in France, but I feel I got stuck somewhere in a ruddy B&B in England. There was great joy in the car, once we were continuing our holiday, on our way back to Switzerland.
