Hotel Bristol was located further from the city centre than I expected (3-4 kilometres west), but a frequent tram service close to the hotel did not make it a big problem. Taxis were also cheap.
The hotel looked very new, the room was stylish and had a beautiful view. Breakfast was great and was served at convenient times.
The swimming pool was very nice, but the sauna was a bit cold.
The "mini-bar" in the room wasn't really a proper mini-bar, as it only contained water, juice and coke. No beer/wine/spirits, nor snacks. Neither was there any alcohol in the cafés or restaurants at the hotel.
Wi-fi connection in the room was perfect.
I cannot agree that the newspaper store had a wide selection, which the hotel claimed, since there were no international newspapers in English/French/German. Disappointed.
What comes to service, I was not very happy even though I only had two easy requests: Many of the TV channels in my room did not work, including CNN. Even though I told them this, during my three nights stay it was not fixed. I also asked in the evening before my departure to order me a taxi to the airport for the next morning, but they said this would be easy and that I should tell them in the morning instead. Next morning they did not get through at the line after one short try on the phone, and then instead tried to sell me a ride with the hotel car at four(!) times the taxi price. Quite offensive offer. When I rejected, they got through to the taxi at once, and the taxi was there in three minutes.
Overall, Hotel Bristol certainly was a very nice, new hotel, but with the star rating I expected the experience to be less mixed.
