Recommended for families
Cozy hotel, very well situated. Literally a stroll through the park to the Sole Therme Bad (Spa with naturally heated, natural mineral water - well worth a visit, we went back the enxt day...). Turn left instead, as you pass the bridge over the little creek, and you're smack bang in the pedestrian area, with a decent selction over places for a bite and a glass, as well as some convenience stores.
We had a family room for four, and really had plenty of space.
Breakfast buffet was included in the room price, and left little to desire.
I'd recommend the following things to see/do; HSB (Harzer Schmalspurbahn - a quite dramatic travel up to the Brocken, as well back into the Cold War period#, the Sole Therme Bad, the Samson silver mine i San Andreasberg, the medieval cities #Goslar, Wernigerode, Bad Sachsa etc), and possibly a visit to the "Dora" on the south side of the hills. Did not go there with small children, but it's duly noted for future visit, although I'm quite sure it will take the cheerfulness out of that day...
All in all; will definitely stay at this hotel next time.
