What a dump
I have between 100 and 200 hotel and B&B nights a year – some of them in pretty bad places – but this is the first time I have actually had to leave and stay somewhere else. For reasons of hygiene and health.
We got a room where walls and floor were dirty and where somebody had punched a hole in the bathroom door. The heater was on (this was June, and a hot day for Scotland) and broken so that it couldn't be turned off or down. The bedsheets were full of stains, and we got a bed only slightly bigger that a single, in what was booked as a double room.
The receptionist gave us our money back immediately, and so, I only lost some four our five GBP due to the currency conversions. The only people I would recommend this place to, however, are the local health inspectors.
