As a former San Diego resident I was aware of homelessness in downtown in the past but this location in Mission Valley is terrible. Avoid this location!!! At this price point for a Marriott branded hotel I could not believe how pathetic breakfast was. Not only very little selection but when I asked the cook if I could get scrambled eggs instead of the green vegetable mess with an over fried egg on top he looked at me like I was crazy. Also parking is ridiculous at $38 a day fortunately the hotels.com app had a low priced deal. Overall I will not stay in any Mission Valley hotel again.

Brand new hotel. Very nice room and very modern. One big downside is the a/c was out of whack, upon arrival the room was 51F. We contacted front desk requested it be set for 68 and left for dinner. (Only maintenance can adjust). Later that evening it was 72, but rose to 80 during the sleep. Reported it again and the 2nd day it was at 68. By night it had risen to 80 again. This must be rectified, we did not have a great sleep either night.

The hotel itself is nice, but unfortunately we didn’t feel it was worth the price. We booked a family room for five, but the sofa bed would not extend properly and there were only three towels. We received more after asking, but the next day they were removed and we were left a note saying there weren’t enough towels available and to call if we needed more. There was also no shower gel, and although we asked for it to be refilled, it wasn’t. The pool was advertised, but we weren’t given any information about it at check-in. When we asked, we found out it was shared with the neighboring Marriott and that we needed to go there to get a separate access card. Overall, a nice hotel, but the service and attention to basic details could have been better, especially for the price.
