Stylish, large room, great location, and great staff.
People at the front desk were WONDERFUL! Funny, helpful, kind and extremely welcoming. It felt very personal, like we mattered. We stayed in a room that was newly remodeled and it was very comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. The hotel is at the edge of the busy Berlin Mitte, but an easy walk and convenient to the Berlin Ost train station and to the U bahn.
The hotel stay had been fine until after I left. As I checked out I mentioned to the manager at the front desk the towel was stained when I arrived - I didn't complain but politely informed. He then sends me an unpleasant message afterwards accusing me of having done it. He has since refused to apologise. Arrogant and rude is an understatement - avoid
Lovely hotel. We arrived after 10pm due to flights and were given a warm welcome. The hotel is easy to reach via public transport and is situated in a quite street. It only takes a few minutes to reach famous sites via tram.
A lovely hotel, with lovely staff, Oscar especially! Close to the underground’s. Couldn’t recommend more.
I was appalled by the phone call I had with the gentleman at the hotel. I would advise people NOT to stay there. I asked to amend the date of our booking as we had an emergency. I was told I could, then called back with new dates that same day and he had completely changed his mind. He was rude, he wouldn't let me get a word in, and went off on a crazy rant. I book hotels daily and have never heard anything like it.
I spent four nights this October in this small, stylish hotel. The warm, friendly welcome from Oscar at reception set the tone for my stay. The hotel has a pleasant, old-fashioned feel about it, despite being bang up-to-date. My room (53 on the top floor) was large and airy, spotlessly clean and beautifully designed with a dark wooden floor and a huge metal-framed and amazingly comfortable bed. The Nespresso machine and Bose sound bar added to the comfortable "at home" feeling. The location (one of my major reasons - together with the reasonable cost - for choosing this hotel) is on a quiet street just behind the Markisches Museum. A two minute walk away is the U-Bahn station of the same name, just a couple of stops to Alexanderplatz to the east and a few stops in the other direction to the Gendarmenmarkt, Potsdamer Platz and then on to the former West Berlin. Museum Island and Unter den Linden are within comfortable walking distance. Breakfast in the adjoining cafe is perfectly adequate with all the usual German breakfast choices - fruit juices, cereals, ham, cheese, bread, eggs, sausages etc. I've been visiting Berlin on and off for over 25 years ,and this is undoubtedly one of my best hotel experiences in all that time. I'll definitely be back!
The staff was very helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable, the hotel was quite and far away from attractions to be relaxing but close enough to walk. We loved our stay of 3 nights. We will definetly stay again if we visit Berlin.
Hotel staff were welcoming and very helpful. We were able to go all the places we wanted to and explore day and evening as transport links were excellent. I would say drinks in the hotel were quite expensive compared to other place though!
The hotel is lovely with crystal chandaliers and a huge old chair in reception to rest a while. The bedroom was very clean, the only downside was the shower is quite small and a bit awkward to get in and out of. The breakfast is expensive for 12 euros and not really value for money with a choice of scambled egg, little sausages, cold meats, cheese and bread. The hotel is quite close to the river with a variety of bars and cafes along each side. We chose to eat and drink at Veronas which is left over the bridge. Good value for money and the food is lovely. I would stay at this hotel again but not pay for breakfast.
