Excellent hotel & staff
The hotel is in an excellent position with views over lake Windermere, a very warm and cosy feel to it, they light the log burner in the lounges late afternoon/early evening, which is nice to sit by and have a drink. It's about a 20 minute walk into Windermere town and 10-15 minutes walk into Bowness, both towns are very nice.
The staff were excellent from arriving at the reception where we were welcomed and a bonus that our room was ready (2.30pm) to enable us check in early.
The rest of the staff were also efficient, very welcoming and friendly, I have to make a special mention to the two sisters (Louise & Claire) who were wonderful in the restaurant, they were so attentive and polite, an asset to the hotel team.
The food was fantastic, we had an evening meal which was delicious and breakfast on both mornings which was wonderful too and very filling, especially the full Cumbrian breakfast.
The room (19) was very pleasant and immaculate, the only negative I would mention was that we could here the fire door in the corridor banging in the morning from around 7am.
The pool was very small but this was fine for a little swim to stretch off after being out all day and the sauna was great to relax in.
There is parking right outside the hotel and we didn't really use the car after arriving as everything local was walkable.
We will definitely return to this lovely hotel.
