I would like to start with saying that the staff at the hotel is AMAZING! There is an old man (Sunil) who does everything. He greets you at arrival, sings for you at dinner at night, takes care of all your wants and needs.
And also if you are looking for a classic resort, this is not it. This is a jungle resort and there will be bugs and animals, all of which are harmless, around you. Not all the time but they are your neighbours and you are visiting the jungle where they live.
If you agree to be a part of the jungle and co-exist for a few nights THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC!
Situated in the middle, of what feels like, nowhere this gem is by far the one of the more unique stays I have ever had. Unique in a good way!
Dinner is a 3 cours traditional Sri Lankan with curries and all the things you come to love during your stay in Sri Lanka. Everything is grown at the resort...all except the Carlsberg beer that is.
Breakfast is a standard Continental one with bread, coffee and some variations of trad. Sri Lankan breakfast. Gets you going for the day and is located just by the river...fantastic place for a breakfast!
If you want, and you should want this, they take you on shorter guided tour. The swimming and waterfall tour are HIGHLY recommended!
All in all. A fantastic stay if you dont expect the Ritz.
