I was here for one night for a business meeting. I go to Kokkola 3-4 times a year, and as my normal hotel was fully booked I used this for the first time. Charming in one way as it was obviously old, but in a terrible condition as it has not been well taken care of (not focused on the oldness, rather added "new periods" into every room/floor as the years has passed by..). The smell of fungus, everywhere, made me feel sick. Worst were the room and bathroom. Even though they have upgraded the rooms and interior, the smell of old moisture in the walls and building made the whole atmosphere "sick". When I was going to check at at 4 o'clock in the morning, it appeared there were no night-guard or any personnell there and everything was closed..! I had to leave without checking out, which should have been informed about when I checked in and at the same time booked a taxi for my early flight. Then I could have paid when checking in, and avoided all the hassle afterwords. I will never stay here again due to the terrible condition of the building, but need also to say that the personnell here was nice and inviting.
