We booked this hotel as it was the cheapest option over the Braderie weekend. Obviously prices were excessively inflated in all Lille hotels for the weekend, so this seemed much more reasonable value. We also booked a room with sharing communal toilet and bathroom - which I have to say, I was incredibly nervous about.
The reality was the hotel was absolutely fine. Sharing facilities is a slightly strange experience, but was manageable for a weekend! The hotel was a 25 minute walk from the centre of town, but a Metro stop is very close by and Ubers were very efficient. All weekend the hotel was very quiet and seem safe. I think in the height of the summer, the room might be very hot though, as there is no air-conditioning. Room was very basic, but that was fine. They can provide a towel if you want, although you might want to take your own. We didn’t eat the (chargeable) breakfast, so can’t comment on that. There is the facility to leave your bags in the bagroom once you’ve checked out, which was really helpful.
We also found all the staff to be really lovely and helpful. And thankfully a couple of them did speak English, which was really helpful to us.
Overall, a perfect location for the Braderie weekend if you don’t want to pay the outrageous prices of the other hotels in town. Communal bathroom a novelty, but we managed to survive it. Would highly recommend the hotel if you want very good value for money and aren’t too worried about luxury living!
